After a brief, seemingly random meeting at the Fremont Sunday Market in Seattle and a few follow-up emails with Alana Marston of Sm’ART Artist Studio, we had an agreement to offer my jewelry for sale in their shop. After fate stepped-in, we had an EVENT!
Remembering only that it was near Palm Springs, CA, I was trading e-mails with Alana, texting my fiancée, and researching the studio all at the same time. My fiancée told me that this was the 3rd or 4th time Palm Springs had come up for her, and she had just been invited to a conference there.
This kind of thing happens to us all the time so while I wasn’t at all surprised by the “coincidence”, I was excited about the opportunity it presented.
“How perfect!” I said. “Maybe I can go down there with you and we can do a reception at the studio.”
Then, I thought I better find out exactly where the studio is located. Here’s the text exchange that ensued:
This happens all the time with the two of us. It’s magic, so yes I do feel like this was meant to be – and I’m excited to do some new things with some game-used baseballs from SoCal’s biggest Major League Baseball stars!
I’ll be featuring items made from baseballs played by: Clayton Kershaw and Cody Bellinger of the Dodgers; Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout of the Angels; and Rookie Sensation Fernando Tatis, Jr. of the Padres!
